The M4 is heavier and has a longer length of pull putting making feel very cumbersome. They are both equally as reliable, but the 1301 cycles faster. The 940 comes with a load of tactical features standard (loading port, charging handle, RMR receiver mount, etc. The gas system components also come with a nickel teflon coating. I believe the A300's components are uncoated (unlike the 1301) as a cost cutting measure., 1301 if you want to spend the $$$. If not, the A300 Ultima Patrol for $999 ($1099 for Tigerstripe).
