The main appeal for Empire in 2023 is that it still has the biggest map for a historical game. Bigger rendered map, not close to biggest map. France being one city, etc. In comparison Troy and Three Kingdoms are huge and feel huge. Both are really dated but Napoleon is a better Vanilla experience if you have to pick one.
