Re: Installing kill switch. You don't have to run wire back to the motor, it can be wired right into the ignition switch at the helm. Generally speaking, most boat ignition switches have an always on 12v wire from the battery. When the key is turned to the "on"/"run" position, the 12v is connected to the ignition wire ..., Lastly, run a test for the installation. Put the lanyard for restarting the motor. turn on your engine make sure the wires are attached to the prevailing kill switch. Now walk away to see if it works.
