Using the opening buttons any of them, the liftgate opens all the way then beeps and quickly automatically closes. Does anyone know how to fix this or what the problem is? This thread is archived. Didn't bring it home until 7. Tuesday (yesterday), we're checking out all the features and we see a warning on the dash ("Tailgate - power tailgate system problem. Operate manually., Failing that, there is probably a sensor that is confused and needs a reset, per the video shared above. IF.. IF your daughter manually opened or closed the gate while it was trying to open or close automatically.. it is possible that something failed as a result. Honda does warn that this may damage the power liftgate.
