How to pop golden bloon btd6

I have since the recent update played a lot of btd6. I noticed there an additional feature in this update, which was the golden bloon. I have at multiple ocations destroyed it, but only seem to get 3 or 6 monkeymoney each time. So I wondered if there is something more to this bloons that I have not realised.
