The 18V expand it whoops the bettary too fast. The 40V handles it well. If you want the expand it I would advise based on my experience to look into the 40V. My property is 1/4 acre and the 18V took 2 4Ah to trim and a third to blow off the sidewalks. The 40 does same job with 1 4Ah battery and power to spare.
