I bought a 20ga and 28ga specifically for to use while duck hunting on the river. They are inexpensive guns but I've had mine for two years now and they've function great.

It can be done with a pump, but it is a steeper learning curve. I picked up an excellent 1100 skeet model with 5 chokes & a spare barrel & case for $500 precovid. The cheapest part of clay sports is the gun. 4 rounds of skeet per week (100 shells) at $6/box is over $1200/year.
